We welcome you to this unique Ngati Porou event!
The Ruatoria Aero Club was established in 1958 and was central to the communities of the East Coast. Some 60 years later this community event celebrates aviation history on the East Coast. Unique whanau activities and entertainment for the day includes local vocalist Brannigan Kaa, headline act Howard Morrison Quartet (take 2) mixed with young talent Paenoa Huriwai-Pahuru and others. Come and enjoy aircraft spot landing, flower bombing, static aircraft displays, pimp my digger competition, kai and exhibitions by the NZ Defence Force, NZ Police and FENZ in the heart of Ngati Porou.
Coasties, townies, former members of Ruatoria Aero Club, Flight instructors, whanau and people with an interest in aviation from around the country will attend this event. All visiting pilots will enter a competition to pronounce Māori place names correctly in their radio (RTF) calls. A world first for Aotearoa aviation!
Nau mai haere mai.
