What accommodation do you have available (new)?

What time will it start?

We have accommodation available at a local Marae, the package includes all transfers, all meals and the hakari where local aviation legends will be acknowledged and taonga presented.  You will learn about and be part of the celebrations by participating in the pōwhiri (Māori welcome) The price is $ 140 pp for Saturday night, options are available for Friday too.  Please contact the organiser.  Numbers will be restricted at the Marae, Cancellation Ts & Cs apply .

Manuhiri (visitors) flying need to be on the ground by 10.45am if you are attending the Hākari (you should!).  Aircraft will be able to leave before 5pm but no earlier than 3pm when the horse events will be finished.  The gates will open at 11am to the public.  If driving enter the airfield from Airstrip Road, off Tapuaeroa Road.  Traffic control will be in place, please be polite and follow the directions of our whanau.

What is the hakari for and how much is it (new info)?

The event will finish at 5pm and the gates will be closed, 6pm.  If you plan to leave before 5pm please let us know so your aircraft is parked in the appropriate place so you can leave with minimum fuss and delay.

Yes but whanau are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.  Paua dumplings and other hot kai and coffee will be available to purchase. 

You will be transferred by bus to the powhiri followed by the hakari, at the Marae  After the hakari you will be brought back to the aerodrome to enjoy the festivities.   At the festivities are over you will be transported back to the Marae to stay the night where you will have dinner.  The evening is free and you can BYO your own refreshments and guitar.  Following breakfast the next morning you will be bused back to your aircraft leaving the marae at 9am.. 

The hakari will be from 11.45-12.45 pm at Reporua Marae.  The purpose is to celebrate aviation history and to acknowledge some special aviators who have contributed to the East Coast, it will include a pōwhiri, entertainment and special presentations to local aviators.   The cost is $ 60 pp if you don't require transport from the air field to the hakari.  If you require transport from the airfield to the hakari the cost is $ 90 pp.  If you have purchased an accommodation package your hakari is paid for.

I'm flying in, can I get a ride to the hakari and back?

Will fuel be available for my aircraft? (new info)

Yes, transport will be available.  Please contact us to book your seat.  The Marae is 13 km from the air field and a long walk.

I am working with Z Energy to secure an Avgas trailer.  Watch this space.  We have a limited amount of avgas available.

There are no landing fees for Fly In 2021 provided you use Maori on the RTF e.g. the correct pronunciation of Maori place names like Ruatoria, Tikitiki, Te Puia etc otherwise we ask that you give a $ 20 koha to our team upon landing.  Please contact us for an audio file to help you with this mahi.
